The Apple Marketing Philosophy by Eric J

Steve Jobs Biography by Walter Isaacson, It was a long thick biography lay by 700+ pages, (Indonesian Edition) recalling very detail of Steve's life from his adoption till (I haven't finished yet). Currently I was on page 140, but each time I finished 50 pages, there were always a nice thought to be share, Around page 120 it was wrote that Mark Markkulla, one of the share holder who also a marketing genius set a philosophy for Apple Corporation as marketing guideline and it serve as a very fine battle strategy.

Here is The Apple Marketing Philosophy :

Empathy, Focus, Impute, Since I watched 2 of Steve Jobs Biography Movie Drama, The Pirates Of Silicon Valley (1999) & Jobs (2013), I felt that there is something mind similiar and opposite with the mesmerizing quote that Jobs once said with the Apple Marketing Philosophy hand out by Mike Markkula.

Empathy :
Markkula once again believe to success, Apple need to aim, understand better the market compare to their competitor, but Jobs once said "But in the end, for something this complicated, it's really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of times, people don't know what they want until you show it to them" as quoted on Businessweek.

Markkula is typical step by step businessman but of course literally his success have supported by his wit & courage in taking risk. His Empathy idea basically was form to learn what people need and satisfied with what their need.

Oppositely Jobs idea was creating a cool stuff that people were once never need and you show to do, tell them how it is work and people have their hand on your stuff, they become addicted need it, it was once become a life hooked stuff.

Focus :
This is absurd fantastic, since the beginning of Internet motivation era (which people loves to create motivation and inspirational line), Jobs once again mentioned an clearer meaning of the old saying "In order to success, you must focus on one thing you are doing".. He explain with

Markkula & Jobs certainly have their great mind think alike.

Impute :

I never spot Jobs once mentioning the idea of packaging to attract consumer but in his daily times during creating Apple II, LISA, MAC, he repeatedly preserve the idea of art and beauty into product. The idea in which he admit that beauty can be serve with simplicity that he inspire from Zen Buddhism teaching. Markkula third marketing philosophy hit the realization that people mostly did not care behind the scene, they will eyeing twice your product if your product make them fall in love in first sight, a second of failure to attraction might make you lose a potential customer. In mostly film, you can see the storyline how Jobs strongly preserving his product to be artistic and forward to forward.
Although Jobs did not mention the illusionist packaging to serve customer but his act in beautify his product with tremendous artistic elements.
